Steven Pelis Obituary
A Durango resident since 1977, he worked in all aspects of construction throughout the Southwest. His hand print is on much of the infrastructure used by thousands every day.
Ever the optimist, Steven saw the best in everyone. He was kind, hardworking, a friend to all and always willing to lend a hand. He will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the La Plata County Humane Society in Steven's memory.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Mary Jo and I are so sorry for your loss. We have never forgotten our wonderful years in Durango. The thought and memory of you and Steve never fails to bring a smile to our lives. We hope our paths may cross in the future. Take care.

There just aren't the words that can express this devastating loss. I have never met a more genuine person, he was more comfortable in his own skin than anyone I have ever known. My heart goes out to his family and all that knew and loved him. The world is a lesser place without him.
