ADELA ANGELINA ALONZO NOV. 27, 1923 - JAN. 14, 2006
Don't weep for me my dear ones,
I've not gone very far
Gently, angels all around me
Took me by the hand
And led me to a garden
In a beautiful golden land
Everywhere was shining
Lovely to behold
I felt a peace I've never known
Wrapped in their arms as they took me home
I wish to thank you, everyone
For all your love and care
Just knowing you were with me
And the happy times we shared
I will never leave you ever
I will be in the softest sigh
In the gentle summer breezes
And the clouds in a morning sky
Yes, I will be with you forever
As long as there is love
Then one day we'll be together
In God's home above.

Grandma,
I'm so glad that you're no longer in pain; it was so difficult to know you were hurting. I will always remember how even if you didn't have anything to say, you would smile your sweet smile, and that would say it all. You were so good-natured about the loss of your legs and would giggle when Alyssa, Brendan, or Camden would climb on your bed and we'd tell them to be careful not to smash your toes. Your spirit and humor lives on through each of us. I'm so proud of you for allowing Jesus to hold your hand.
Thank you aunt Margaret and Harriet for being so good to my grandma, and thank you mom for the daily lunch visits to see grandma.
Thank you to everyone else for your support throughout the years.

Mamacita
We were with you through it all. With each agonizing pain you endured and through your five surgeries that you underwent, we were with you through it all. Each time you had to undergo a surgery, you always said, “If God wants me to endure it, then I will.” With each pain, you would cry out, “Help me Jesus.” And with each surgery, you came out a stronger person in faith. In our hearts, we prayed that our good Lord would have Mercy and give you the strength to get better so that you could come home one more time to us. But it was in those final moments, when the pain became so unbearable that you would sit up and grab for anything that might be comforting to you. I would take your hands in mine and tell you how sorry I was that I could not do anything for you other than to let you know that I was there with you. Then my prayers began to change in the final days, as I witnessed how tired you began to look and how frail your body became. I prayed that God have Mercy on you and that he take you home. Not our home, but the home that our Heavenly Father had promised you. I knew I could no longer be selfish and I had to give you up for I knew that once my Heavenly Father took you in his arms, you would be whole again! We were with you until the final moment when I kissed you good-bye and told you that God was waiting for you and that He had a new precious body for you; one that you could go dancing once again. We were with you when you finally reached up to our Heavenly Father, releasing your earthly body, as you took your last breath and I felt your last heart beat and saw your last tear. It is all over Mamacita…the pain is all gone! I see your smiling face and I hear your footsteps once again as you enter the Kingdom of God. Rest in Peace Mamacita for one day, I too, shall see you again. Love you Always, La Nina!

Grandma Adela, I miss you deeply. I will always keep your memory alive in my heart. I will always cherish the times we spent together and especially all the lunch times Ruth and I spent with you. I will always remember your smile and the excitement you had when you would see family members, your children and especially your grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dolls will always remind me of you. I still remember how much you admired my Chrissy "red headed doll" that I got when I was a little girl. I still have Chrissy. I can't remember how many Chrissy dolls you told me you had bought thoughout the years but I remember it was a lot. Thank you Margaret and Harriet for taking such great care of Grandma. I'd like to thank our family and friends for visiting Grandma and showing your love and concern. Grandma, I love you and you will always have a special place in my heart.

My fondest memories of my Grandma Adela is running to her house (on school days)with a brush and barettes so she can comb my hair. I don't think any of us grandchildren can forget "The Dolls", red haired ones to be exact. She was a lovely lady and will be deeply missed. I would especially like to thank my Aunt Margaret for being there for the last ten years of her life and taking care of her.--Thank you. Also, thank you to my father and all of grandma's other children, who were there for her in her time of need. Love, Veronica
