Elizabeth Heiden Obituary

Betty passed away on March 10, 2021 at the age of 98. She was loved by many & surrounded by family.

Betty was born December 4, 1922 in Trinidad, Colo. She spent most of her childhood years in Sioux City, Iowa.

She married Mainard Heiden in Las Vegas, Nev. on May 3, 1941. They were married 68 years before Mainard's passing.

Together they raised a Beautiful Family, they also raised 2 of their grandchildren Skye and Dustin Sheets after their mother's (Charlotte) passing.

Around 1961 when Saint Columba's new school was completed, Monsignor Stauter was pastor. Betty and her mother Hazel Pfalmer started the lunchroom program. Barbara Pfalmer also helped. This was all donated time to help Monsignor and the children of Saint Columba.

Betty worked several years for Basin Rexall drug stor in Durango, Colo.

Betty was preceded in death by his mother Hazel Pfalmer, her father William Pfalmer, 3 brothers, 2 sisters. Daugher Charlette (Charlies) Sheets, husband Mainard Heiden, son William (Butch) Heiden.

She is survived by 2 daughters Ann Pilcher (David) of Longmont, Colo., Karen Binger of Durango, Colo., several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren.

She will be missed by all who loved her and never forgotten.

Burial has taken place in Durango, Colo.

Perhaps you sent a lovely card or sat quietly on a chair. Perhaps you sent a funeral spray, if so we saw it there. Perhaps you spoke the kind words as any friend could say. Perhaps you were not there at all but just thought of us that day. Whatever you did to console our hearts, we thank you so much, whatever the part.

As our thoughts and prayers for the Betty Heiden family go out today, we have happy memories of being neighbors for many years in the late 60's. Durango was a small town with caring hearts.
