Denten Davis Obituary
He is preceded in death by his father Clarence Davis. He is survived by his mother, Donna Davis; wife, Debra Teller; son Garett Davis (Holly); daughter Leslie Read (Will); stepchildren Tamara Ritter (Perry), Teara Doedo (Micah), Tiffany Teller; grandchildren Elliot Davis, Ella Read, Kendra Teller, Nathaniel Rodriquez, Darian Ritter, Jade Teller, Zekiel Pearcy, Sophie Carter, Breanna Doede, & Oliver Doede; sister D'Ette Hobden (Russ); brothers Mick Davis (Brenda), Leland Davis (Rene), Dallas Davis, Darin Davis (Renee); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Denten was born in Lamar, Colorado in 1950 and raised on the family farm south of Granada. He attended Granada schools through his sophomore year. The family then moved to a ranch near Durango, Colorado and graduated from Durango High School. He was first married to Joanne Wilson, 1974-1984. In 1988, he married Debra Teller.
Denten was an accomplished machinist, auto mechanic, equipment operator & pipeline inspector. He had the ability to fix almost anything and was always willing to help others with their projects. His passion was fishing, hunting, & camping, which he pursued from Mexico to Alaska and most states in between. He loved spending time outdoors with his family & friends and entertained all with humorous stories of his many adventures.
Denten will be sorely missed by his family & numerous friends. Services will be held on Saturday, October 24th at 2:00 p.m. at Church of Christ, 2011 Bayfield Parkway, Bayfield, Colorado. Coffee and dessert will be served. Come help us celebrate Denten's life. Camo & jeans welcome!

Denton, (or Buster as I knew him growing up) a cousin, was such an ornery little one much like his dad. He always teased us even though we were older but didn't matter to him. His fun loving life was special. Such a loss for his family and all of us that grew up with him in Kansas and Colorado. Love to all.

Nice to see people remembering good times with Denten. Was over to see him earlier this summer, and he was having a good day. Was great remembering some crazy times we all had together. If you couldn't have fun with Denten, you must lhave not been breathing. We used to spend endless hours playing basketball and pitching in their big shed on their family ranch south of Granada. Nights we would play until well after midnight. One of my favorite times was hunting rabbits in Kansas at their Uncle Homer's, with his cousin Grady, Mike and Denten. I drove my old 1964 Ford Falcon Stationwagon. Grady was in a wheel chair, so he sat in the front seat with his rifle out the right front window and Denten and Mike were hanging out the back two windows. I tried to dodge all the cactus, but that didn't work....we had a blast. The next day, sure enough...no flats...but the car wasn't running real well. It had a 260 V-8 in it and one spark plug wire was off and both motor mounts were broke and the engine was sitting on the wheel wells. But it was running. A hunting trip to remember.

I grew up with Denton and always remember his smiling, onery way. He teased me a lot just like his dad since I had red hair. I loved going to their house on the creek. The puppies and the pet raccoon were the best!
So sorry for your loss. He was such a sweet person.
