Christopher Moore Obituary

Christopher William Moore

October 28th 1954 - August 30th 2024

Christopher Moore, known to many as The Frederick Golf Guy, passed away at the age of 69, on Friday, August 30th 2024.

Chris is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Jeanne Moore, as well as by his brother Stephen J Moore.

He is survived by his wife of twenty-seven years, Jennifer Moore, of Frederick, Maryland, his children and their spouses; Nicholas (Dana) Grayson of Jefferson, Maryland, Adam (Christina) Grayson of Charles Town, West Virginia, Christopher Moore and Richard Stewart of Ogunquit, Maine, Katherine (Vincent) Chase of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, and Samantha (Wesley) Karstens of Walkersville, Maryland. Chris is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Tiberius, Liam, Charlotte, Caroline, Henry, and Vivienne.

Born into a military family, Chris lived in Alaska and France, before his family settled in Massachusetts. It's there that he graduated from Stonehill College, with a Business degree. Chris would have two children from his first marriage, before meeting the love of his life, Jennifer, and settling down in Frederick, Maryland.

Chris was a passionate athlete, playing hockey, softball and golf beginning in his childhood. He would go on to build a golf travel business as a Golf Concierge in 2003, centered around golf travel to his beloved Frederick County, while also running local leagues around town. He had a radio show for many years on WFMD - The Frederick Golf Guy.

Chris championed his community, loyally supporting local businesses as a member of the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce initially as a member, then as an ambassador to mentor new members.

Chris also loved music, especially the music of the Grateful Dead, often traveling with Jennifer to connect with their music family.

In recent years, Chris enjoyed watching his blended family grow, supporting his children and spending as much time with his grandchildren as possible. He stayed close to extended family, especially his Uncle David, Aunt Joanne, his niece Laura, and nephew Brian.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 26, 2024 at Prospect Point Brewing beginning at 10 am, with live music to follow at 1 pm. A private interment will follow at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to 'Eigs of the World', a 501c3 charity whose mission, is to provide music, artistic opportunity and mentoring, to children in need.

Here's to you Chris 'Jaggerbrains' Moore!
I wish I could be at your Celebration of Life with your family and friends today Jagga... I'm there in spirit.
It was a blast being a third roommate with you and Gark (Gahk) at Stonehill in the 'Hockey Team' Townhouse while I was waiting for another opening. That was a great semester!
You welcomed me and embraced my having a 'front of house' sound system in a college dorm! You were also a great friend and very supportive - and loved the music!
The only time I've ever seen 'One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest' was when you were in the play at Stonehill the year before.
I'm glad that we connected again on Facebook.
I'm more than glad to have seen and followed what a great life you have had.
Our mutual friend and my best friend from high school David 'Carlos' Ramirez (who was at BU when we were at Stonehill and a frequent visitor) kept me posted before Facebook and we still talk about you.
I know Carlos wishes he could be there today too.
Keep On Truckin' Jagga!!!

Praying for the Moores during this difficult time. I came to know Chris well in my years at Wells Fargo and he was one of my absolute favorite people and never failed to put a smile on my face in any circumstance. He had a heart of gold and will be greatly missed by all whose life he touched, including my own. Rest in Peace, Chris - Tom

Rose and I were so very saddened to hear of Chris´ passing. I recall the first time I met Chris. We were attending a work related class and I saw this towering fellow with a pony tail haircut and a huge Boston accent. Little did I know he would later marry my boss Jennifer and they would build a wonderful family together. May God bless Jennifer and family and provide strength and comfort to them all.

Rose and I were very saddened to learn of Chris´s passing. I recall the first time I met Chris. It was at work and we were attending a class or something. I saw this towering fellow with a tail haircut and a big time Boston accent. Little did I know later Chris would marry my boss Jennifer and they would build a wonderful family together. We hope the good Lord will bless Jennifer and fam with strength and a level of comfort.

I was very proud to be one of the first persons he met when he moved to Frederick. I was Chris's bartender at first and then quickly became friends. After many years of friendship and golfing together I will miss him dearly. Farewell my friend. I Love you man!
