Brandi Fassett Obituary

Brandi Renee Fassett was born September 28, 1971, and passed away unexpectedly and peacefully on November 1, 2021. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and co-worker. She is a third-generation La Plata County resident, graduated from Durango High School in 1990, and remained living on the family ranch. She was actively involved in her community and was always there to help anyone in need. Her generosity was unmatched, her laugh and smile unforgettable, and her larger-than-life personality has forever touched so many people. It would be an understatement to call Brandi an animal lover; she poured so much love and care into her fur babies. She was a loyal employee of LPEA for 27 years.

She is preceded in death by her mother Barbara Fassett and nephew Dustin Malouff. She is survived by father Bruce Fassett, sisters Cindy Swinney (Buddy) and Dena Malouff (Lonnie), her nieces and nephews Shelly Burns (Rob), Michelina Paulek (Brady), Crystal Harrison (Jay), Jesse Malouff (Amy), and Shay Broadhead (Holly). She is also is survived by nine great-nieces and nephews, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, amazing friends, and co-workers.

Her family is overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, generosity, and grace. We want to thank everyone for their kind words, encouragement, and prayers. Please consider a Memorial Contribution to Hospice of Mercy, Annie's Orphans, or St. Columba School in lieu of flowers.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021, at 2:00 pm at the Durango's Cowboy Church, 1867 Hwy 172, Durango, CO - We will have refreshments and dessert because Brandi showed us "Life is short - eat dessert first."
