Norma Rose Walker passed away of natural causes at Four Corners Health Care Center in Durango on Sunday, March 28, 2021. She was born on May 27, 1924 in Baltimore, MD. Norma moved to Durango in 2009 to be near her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Lisa Mackey.
She graduated from Anacostia High School in Washington, D.C. in June, 1942. She lived in Baltimore, MD, Washington, D.C. and Indianapolis, IN prior to retiring in Port Charlotte, FL in 1984. Norma was married to Edgar Mackey, who was the father of her three children - Sharon, Dawn, and Steve. Her second husband was John Walker. Her two daughters preceded her in death, as did both of her husbands.
For 15 years, Norma was a secretary to the purchasing agent at Tube Processing Corporation in Indianapolis, IN. She read a lot, loved puzzles, and enjoyed the La Plata County Senior Center for exercise, lunch, and entertainment.
She is survived by five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and her son and daughter-in-law Steve and Lisa Mackey. Services were held at Greenmount Cemetery on Tuesday, March 30, 2021.
