Neil Boyd McCleery, 94, died from heart failure 10/24/20, at his home in Durango. Born to Olin and Ester McCleery on 2/5/1926 in Parker, Arizona.

While in High School he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served for 30 months in WWII as an Aviation Radioman. After the war he came to Ignacio where he met and married his wife of 66 years Eva (O'Brien) McCleery. They attended Ft. Lewis College at Hesperus where he received an AA degree. He continued his education earning a BS and MS from Arizona and New Mexico State Universities respectively.

Neil worked for the Bureau of Land Management for 30 years. After retirement they returned to their property on Florida Mesa where he enjoyed farming, raising British White cows, dogs, and riding his horses.

He is survived by his three sons. Wesley McCleery of Grand Junction, Michael McCleery of Craig, and Neil Bryan McCleery of Durango.

Cremation has occurred and Service will be held later.
