Nancy "Nan" Jane Burns-Johnson died Monday March 8, 2021 in Loveland Colorado with her family by her side. She was 75.
Nan was born in Denver Colorado on September 13, 1945 to June Koshak and James Dean Burns. She was the middle of 7 children.
She raised four children from her first marriage on a farm on the western slope. Two days after her 40th birthday she welcomed her fifth child a beautiful red-haired girl in Montrose. Later settled in Spokane Washington where she met and married her husband Jerry Johnson. The summer of 92 she helped her best friend "Punky" build a cabin in the backwoods of Montana. Jerry and Nan had a business J & N lawn care service in Spokane. She and Jerry enjoyed their John Wayne movies and their many many spare-of-the-moment road trips. One of her greatest
accomplishments was being Grandma Nan to her grandchildren. She started a tradition of sending 2 dollar bills on their birthdays the number of 2 dollar bills would correspond with their age. After the passing of her husband Jerry in 2004 Nan and her mom, June moved back to Durango Colorado. There she became involved with the VFW Post 4031 and became an Auxiliary life member. She loved to go to the "V" and was known as the life of the party and was quite the pool shark!!!
Nan was preceded in death by her Mom June, her father Stan, sister Tammy, her daughter Gaile, granddaughter Cassie and her husband Jerry Johnson.
She is survived by her children Connie Barber (Scott) John Kramer (Ann) Tracy Koch (Tom) and Ashlie Coleman (Alex). Grandchildren Sarah Barber, Amanda & Trevor Koch.
