Delia M. Lopez passed away on November 12, 2021, she was 83 years old.
Delia was born in Monero, NM. The family later moved to Chama, NM where she lived until she married Sam Lopez in 1958 and moved to Durango. They raised Sam's boys and had two children of their own. Delia worked at the Townhouse Restaurant, Coca-Cola Bottling Plant, and Eventide Nursing Home. She retired from Mercy Hospital in 2001. Delia enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. She liked to read the Bible and to attend services at The Cowboy Church in Durango. She volunteered to cook for the homeless when the big dinners were held at the fairgrounds. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandson Diego who assisted his mother Linda as her primary caregivers.
Delia is survived by: Sister Orlinda Arellano; Stepson's Tomas Archuleta (Janette); Ernie Lopez (Eve); Larry Lopez (Denise); Gerald Lopez (Pat); Daughter, LInda Lopez; Grandchildren: Angelina, Samuel, Gary, Nathan, Lora, Stacie, Brian, and Diego. 13 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded by: Father: Lesardo Jaramillo; Mother: Francisquita Jaramillo; Siblings: Gilbert Jaramillo, Orlando Jaramillo, Alex Jaramillo; Husband: Sam Lopez, and son Michael Lopez.
There will be a viewing for Delia on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 9am-11am at the Cowboy Church, 1867 Highway 172, Durango, CO 81303 and services will begin at 11am, with burial at Greenmount Cemetery following services.
