Carlos R. Alexander was born on October 30, 1981 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He unexpectedly gained his wings on November 15, 2021. We rejoice that he is now dancing with the angels, but there is a huge hole in our hearts, and his earthly presence will be missed beyond words.
Carlos was born and raised in Colorado Springs. He went to John Adams Elementary School and later to Wasson High School where he met and fell in love with Trenika. To this union, their beautiful baby boy Deshawn was born. Being a father brought so much joy to Carlos. He was very proud of his son and loved watching him grow and become an amazing young man. If you ever had a conversation with Carlos, you had to be willing to listen to at least one story about his son. He always said it was his privilege to be Deshawn's dad.
Throughout his journey, Carlos never met a stranger. He loved everyone and always enjoyed the adventure. His favorite pastime was spending time with family, close friends, and eating. He absolutely loved food.
Carlos settled in Durango, Colorado in November of 2016. This path led him to his dearest friends, Dru and Crystal English; they formed an unbreakable bond that has enlarged our families. One of the things he loved most about Durango was his tenure at Fathers Daughter's Pizza. He was embraced by a loving, supportive community and met some of the most amazing people. He loved sharing these stories.
Carlos had a smile that would light up a room. He was the cool, funny guy, but he was also a peacemaker. He was the most optimistic person you could ever meet. No matter how bad a situation, he would find something good about it. He would do anything he could to make you smile. He will be sorely missed and remembered for his infectious laugh, radiant smile, love for animals, loving and kind spirit, and his huge heart!
Carlos was blessed with a loving family and many great friends. He leaves to cherish his memory his greatest joy, his son, Deshawn Huery (Colorado Springs) his son's Mother and childhood sweetheart,Trenika Quitler; sister, Diantha Redmond (Roy), Austin, Texas; brother, Terrance Alexander (Deb), Fountain, Colorado.
His nephews, great-nephew and a host of relatives and friends.
His parents, Hamilton and Cora Alexander preceded him in death.
