My deepest condolence to the Griego family and to all who knew and loved him.
I met Mikey when he was a Marine @ Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, California.
So much fun, and the times we shared, bonded our friendship forever.
My first visit to Durango, he gave me a ride on his bike, out to the riverside, to show me beautiful Colorado, which is this photo I took, and how I will always remember him.
But the most amazing moment of our friendship, was when he called me on my birthday... to tell me his son Dustin was born.
I've always believed God blesses us with special friends along life's journey.
Rest in Peace, my friend. Semper Fi.
Dusty, Patti, may God's Love and Peace comfort you, and to all Mike's family and loved ones.
Much Love, Julie.

My sincere condolences to the Griego family.Mikey was one of a kind....he had a heart bigger than Texas. I met him at his family restaurant,I was cleaning beans. He said, you have two piles of beans. Well yeah this one's the bad pile and that pile is the pile I need to clean. He smirked and pointed to the bad pile then pulled some from it. He said Sue, what's wrong with these? I was young back then, I said see those darker marks. He said o.k......and that's why there called pinto beans. So he gave me bean cleaning 101 and he just shook his head with that smirk......i can go on and on but here's a good memory and lesson hat shaping 101. I had stopped by his house on the mesa and went in and there he was with this cool iron machine. He showed me how to shape a cowboy hat. To him it was a piece of cake, myself on the otherhand... I'll stick to baseball caps. But he had a cowboy hat for work, special occasion and just cleaned up look etc... I called him cowboy up......... Hurry up and iron that hat or I'm l leaving to the casino without you..... Cowboy up..... Mikey, the memories will not make up for your absence here but you made it to the other side...so you just rode away. Chow for now my friend, your faith overcame your fear your home painfree my friend love ya Mikey.. You may be gone but never forgotten!!!!!!!!!
