Elegant singer/actress Diahann Carroll reportedly passed away from cancer on October 4th, 2019 (at age 84).

Many years ago, I met Diahann in New York. She was backstage rehearsing a musical number. Diahann, in quite a sultry manner, was seated atop a piano as I slowly approached.

Greeting this very attractive performer, I referred to her as "Julia" (the name of a widowed nurse that she famously portrayed on her sitcom television series "Julia"). I...

To the Carroll Family: I want to offer my sincere condolences on the passing of Ms Carroll. She was
a fine actress and beautiful lady. I will always remember her role in Claudine and a Different World as
Marion Whitley's mother. She will
be greatly missed. May she rest in
peace with the angels and our lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Enjoyed watching MRS Carroll play Julia Corey's mom and she was a TRUE FASHIONISTA.I am watching episodes on aspire TV right now RIP TV's First Black Queen for a TV series.

She symbolized strength and confidence and class something we needed in nation and a tremendous roll model to all people of color and those young girls trying to make a difference
