Robert Lee Abrams passed away Sunday Feb. 5th at the age of 81. He was born in Rockingham, NC on March 6, 1935 to Pearl E. Phillips and Joseph L. Abrams. Bob served in the Navy as a Combat Air Crewman from 1952-1960. After being discharged from the military, Bob lived in CA and married Martha A. Hood. They were married 55 years and together had two daughters. In 1959 Bob opened his own painting company. In 1978 he moved with his family to Durango, CO and started AA American Towing, which he ran for 37 years. He was a Sheriff and served the CO Mounted Rangers for 20 years. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion.
He is survived by his daughters: Rebecca Ghear and Sharon Hammack, Granddaughters: Christal Quinn, Danielle Ghear and Cassie Hammack, and Great Grandchildren: LeVatha Fine, Slate Fine and Ara Hammack.
Services will be held on Saturday Feb 11, 2017 2PM at Hood Mortuary followed by burial at Greenmount Cemetery and reception at the Cowboy Church.
