Joseph "Charlie" Quintana passed away at home in Ignacio, surrounded by family, on May 23, 2018. Charlie was born in Durango November 4, 1936 to Eustaquio Quintana and Camilla Casias Quintana. Charlie married Betty Jo Cruz in 1962. Together they raised 4 children. Charlie worked construction for Archuleta County and worked his land as a farmer. He was very involved with the church and was a church musician.
Charlie was preceded by his parents; sister Lorraine; and newborn baby daughter Mary Ann. He is survived by wife Betty Jo; daughters Carmela (Lupe) Huerta, Charlene (Frank) Sandoval, & Cindy (Chris) Valdez; son Carlos Quintana; sister Mary Gonzales; 12 grandchildren; 11 2/3 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Recitation of the Rosary will be held Sunday, May 27, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Peter-St. Rosa Catholic Church in Arboles. A Funeral Service will be held at the church Monday, May 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment at Rosa Cemetery.
