David Rael Obituary

David Rainblood Rael "Bullsey," was born May 30, 1969. To his parents Phyllis Marie Escalanti and Fernando Head Rael in Ignacio, Colorado. David passed away the morning of January 28th in Ignacio, Colorado from natural causes.

David was charismatic, generous, fun-loving, and someone you could always count on. He had very strong family values and would help anyone in need. David enjoyed cooking for his family and would say the key to any good dish is "love." Ever a provider and protector of his loved ones he always gave encouraging words to uplift one's spirit. One of his greatest passions was sports, he was an athlete, a coach, a mentor and believed in unlocking one's true potential through hard work and dedication.

David graduated from Ignacio High School in 1987. Directly after graduating, David proudly served in the U.S. Army 1st Battalion 30th Infantry 3d Infantry Division, 30th A.G. Bn. While stationed in Schweinfurt, West Germany; David was awarded, Army Achievement Medal, Marksman Marksmanship Badge Rifle M-16 and Marksman Marksmanship Badge Grenade.

David is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ollie & Mary Chavez, his father Fernando Head Rael, and sister Lucinda Rael all from Bayfield Colorado and recently his nephew Hunter Gauge Brassard.

David is survived by his wife Lisa and four sons Caleb, Tristan, Arrow and Quentin Rael. His mother, Phyllis Marie Escalanti and his sisters, Corleen Rael, Yvonne Jamison (Ron), Rebecca Rael, Toni Rael (Beverly), and his brothers Irvine Casillas (Andrea), A. Strongbow (Jolene), and Ray Vasquez. Along with many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends near and far.

Services will be held at the Southern Ute multipurpose building and chapel in Ignacio, Colorado at 10 A.M. Friday February 2, 2018 with Pastor Kelly Winlock officiating the service.

David Rainblood Rael's final resting place will be Ouray Memorial Cemetery alongside his father Fernando Head Rael.
