Former Durango resident, Ambrose Hickman, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2016 in Gravette, Ar. Ambrose was born on Nov. 19, 1925 in Roswell, NM to John & Leesee Hickma. He married Elevena Haga on Oct. 20, 1945 in Fort Sumner, NM and together they raised 3 children. Ambrose worked for the REA in Bayfield for many yrs before working for the City of Durango. After retirement in 1996, the Hickman's moved to Fort Sumner, NM then on to Gravette, AR.
Ambrose was proceeded in death by his parents, 10 sibling, his wife in 2013 & grandson Wesley Hickman in 2016. He is surveved his brother Ira Hickman, son Gerald (Vicki) Hickman, of Durango, Pauletta (Jim) Van Horn of Gravette, AR and Lavina (Tim) Meadeor of Hesperus. He is also survived by 5 grandchilren, 14 great grandchildren & 5 great-great grandchildren. Burial will be in Gravette, AR.

LaVina I remember riding dirt bikes at your house and your Dad thought we were crazy. You sure have had a rough year. Wes just had to get to heaven before his Grandpa and get everything ready. I am here if you need someone.
